The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) - it is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. Tourism is one of the key service sectors in Singapore, so STB is responsible to undertake the marketing and promotion of Singapore as a tourism destination. It publishes monthly statistics on international visitor arrivals and champions the development of Singapore tourism sector, which fully support and develop the tourism industry in Singapore.

As a well-known global commercial, financial, and transportation hub center, Singapore has tens thousands of private sectors no matter the scale in its service industry. The booming development of the whole city-state and these service providers are inseparable with each other.

 

There are several top-branded companies that makes a contribution to the development of tourism industry in Singapore. On one hand, Singapore has its local brand such as Singapore Airline, Banyan Tree Holdings, and TWG Tea Company with good reputation of high-quality service to promote the country to international tourists.

 

On the other hand, as an open-mind country, Singapore is willing to have partnership with international brands, such as Universal Studio, to promote its tourism industry in the international market.

Currently the home of 140 International Non-Governmental Organizations (INPOs), a number that quadrupled since 2005. They are not only helping Singapore to improve its sustainable development from cultural, environmental and economic aspects, but also helps to promote some heritage sites.

 

For example, World Wide Found and Nature (WWF) set its International's Asia Pacific headquarter in Singapore, which make efforts on conserving and protecting natural environment of the whole city.

 

Since then, participation in the event and the support for it has grown every year. It is a symbol for Singapore’s commitment for conserving the environment. In 2012, UNESCO ratified the Singapore Botanic Garden as a world heritage, which affirmed the historical importance of the garden and make it well known in other counties.

All types of media play important roles in helping Singapore to be a perfect tourism destination.

As the melting pot of Southeast Asia, Singapore's food, music, art and lifestyle are all influenced by other cultures that bring the country to its very unique position today.
